Wedding Wednesday Proposals

So as many of you already know we love dogs in weddings. What about the whole proposal that leads to the wedding? That’s pretty important and likely to be the story you tell your grandkids for years to come. A marriage proposal is important and is usually done in a very personal, creative and unique way.

Many furry friends are couples first baby, therefore, including him or her in the proposal is a very cute gesture! Below are some tips & ideas for having a puppy proposal.

{Ring Around The Collar}

This is a very classic proposal with the doggy having the engagement ring attached to his/her collar. Make it extra special by having your dog wear a bow, floral collar or a bow tie for that extra dapper look.

TIP: for added security (depending on your dog) you can put the ring inside a ring box. Timing is important so do a few test runs with your dog and make sure he/she comes over when called for their part.

{Message In A Bottle}

Ok not necessarily a message IN a bottle but a written proposal that utilizes your pup. You can get a dog tag made that simply says “will you marry me” or have a little sign around your dogs neck that pops the big question for you!

{Balancing Act}

This requires skill on behalf of your dog. Practice, practice, practice. We also recommend using a box with this one. Tell your fiancé to be, “Hey look at Rover’s new trick!” And have your dog patiently waiting with the ring box balanced on their nose!

{Custom Clothing}

Have a shirt or hoodie made for your dog that does the proposing for you. It will surely catch anyone’s attention and after reading the message be prepared for tears.

Don’t have a dog to use for your upcoming proposal? Not to worry! Ask a friend. Chino is also available and has a bow tie and even a tux. He prefers upfront payment in bully sticks. Once you have proposed we can help have your dog in the engagement photos or wedding check this out weddings

Wedding Wednesday {incorporating your dog}

Happy Wedding Wednesday. Lot’s of people want their dog to attend their big day however there are lots of ways to do it and also lots to consider. Here are my top 8 tips:

1. Make sure someone is available to assist your dog in preparing before the wedding as well as accommodating to bathroom breaks, food & water as well as being taken to the appropriate place after the ceremony (dog daycare or back to your home). We offer a wedding service that does this check it out.

2.Your venue(s) make sure to run this by them and see if they allow dogs in the venue and to take part even if it is just for a short while. This is totally up to their discretion unless it is an outdoor wedding.

3.Put together a plan as to whom your dog will walk with down the aisle or if he/she can walk unassisted off leash around your entire guest without distractions. Figure out what role your dog will play and whether they will go alone, with the flower girl or ring bearer or with a bridesmaid or groomsmen…..decisions decisions.

4. Don’t feel obligated to buy a mini tux or dress for your dog, it’s your wedding day and you can personalize everything as much as you can. The florist can make a flower collar similar to that of the wedding party of a bow tie can be made that matches the groomsmen.

5. Staying on the subject of the attire, if you plan on having your four legged friend be you ring bearer DO NOT put the actual rings with them because there is always the chance of them being lost. I know that many best men also run the same chance of misplacing these items as well but at least they can TELL you where it is or where it’s been forgotten

6. Be conscious of your guests and any allergies or fears they may have towards your dog.

7. Put into your to do list to have your pooch groomed or have a bath – after all you want them to look just as great as the rest of the attendees they will be in photos.

8. Practice practice practice the walk with your dog and if applicable bring your dog to the rehearsal as well to get them familiar with the venue so that it is not all brand new to them on the day of.

Wedding Wednesday A Barnyard Wedding

Happy Wedding Wednesday. I am excited to share these photos I received from one of our weddings this year. Ruger was a joy to care for and was such a good boy for the long car ride to The Bradford Barn. He stood up front with the groomsmen and was so well behaved the entire ceremony.
