Nonetheless it was well worth the wait because it was super awesome and filed with LOTS & LOTS of goodies.

First up was Etta Says! Duck Chew & Duck Jerky, Chino being the carnivore he is absolutely loved the chew, I have not gotten to giving him the jerky just yet but the chew was a big hit as it was similar to a bully stick which is his favourite thing ever!

We also received a Barkworthies stuffed shin bone. Chino has not had the pleasure to eat this yet. I am saving it for when I have lots of emails and bookkeeping work to do so that he is entertained while he gets ignored for a couple of hours. It stuffed with beef and rice and looks as though we can refill it again once it has been cleaned.

 Aussie Naturals ABO Gear Groom Mitt is the item I got most excited about in this month’s box. Chino is always rolling around in anything he can fin and comes home completely covered and a tinge of brown. I love that these are portable and fit over my hand.

Before I even opened the package he knew what was it!  Jacob is a notorious picky eater and will often spit out treats he doesn’t like.

It describes a dog that appears stressed when the owner leaves the home, or even the room. This behavior shows itself in symptoms like:  excessive salivation, barking, whining, destroying items in the home, attempting to escape, and scratching at walls and doors.  Separation anxiety can be very destructive to your home and your dogs well being but there are lots of ways to help!

1. Exercise: A dog that is tuckered out is less likely to have the energy to destroy anything or whine excessively. A good long walk is a great way to wear off some energy. This is an instance where a dog walker coming in the middle of the day to exercise your dog would be very helpful to minimize symptoms of separation anxiety. To further ensure your pooch is done in after a walk, you can purchase a dog backpack and fill it with extra weight.

2.  Be calm when you leave the home: If you make a big fuss before walking out the door  or lavish your dog with affection on your way out, you will have a problem! Your dog will not have hurt feelings if you don’t acknowledge him/her before you head out. Your best bet is to leave without a good bye or any extra attention.

3. Practice makes Perfect! You may need to give the quick exit a few test runs to make it work. You can start by leaving your dog for 5 minutes and returning, and eventually build up to an hour. It is a lot of work, but it will be worth it when your dog has developed trust that you will always come back (maybe even with some treats!)
