F.A.Q
Q: When is payment due? What forms of payment do you accept?
A: We send an invoice via email on the 15th and last day of each month. We gladly accept Visa, e-transfers, and cheques as methods of payment.
Q: What time will you walk my dog?
A: Our daily walks take place anywhere between 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. There are evening, weekend and holiday walks available; advanced notice is preferred. Please contact ingrid@leashandpaws.com or call 647-523-PAWS to organize after hours walks.
Q: What if I need to cancel or add a walk?
A: Please email ingrid@leashandpaws.com to make any schedule modifications. Remember that a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellation is required to avoid a cancellation fee.
Q: What happens in bad weather conditions?
A: Your dogs safety is our top priority. In the event of extreme weather (thunderstorms, blizzards, and heat waves) we may modify the length of walk and have some indoor playtime for the remainder of your dogs allotted time slot. We also ask that you leave a towel out in wet weather to dry your dog and avoid any mess in your home.
Q: Do most client provide you with a copy of their keys?
A: Most clients provide a set of keys during the initial Meet and Greet visit. For your peace of mind we are bonded, insured, and all walkers have completed a criminal record check. You may also leave a set of keys with your buildings front desk if it is allowed.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Please email info@leashandpaws.com or call 647-523-PAWS to schedule a Meet and Greet visit. On our initial visit to your home, you and your pet will get an opportunity to meet your dog walker. This is your time to share any special instructions (do they need to be fed? any medications? do they need to be crated?) as well as fill out a small packet of paperwork.
Q: What if my dog becomes sick or injured during a walk?
A: During the initial meet and greet, you will sign a veterinary release form that will be kept on file. In the event of illness/injury, this form authorizes us to seek medical attention at your clinic on your behalf. Every attempt will be made to contact you during an emergency.
Q: Where will you walk my dog?
A: Our walkers will keep your dog in an area close to your home. We try to allow time for your dog to explore a park/green space in the area. Your dog is walked for the entire duration of the walk and never placed in a vehicle or left in a dog park where he or she may or may not run around.
Contact us to set up a meet and greet so that we may discuss your individual needs and coordinate services to accommodate and provide the highest level of care for your dog.
